Chauffeured car service supplier BostonCoach on Wednesday
launched a reporting tool designed to provide travel managers analysis of their
car services spending and usage across their organizations.
The tool, called SmartReports, provides analysis to travel
buyers on either a monthly, quarterly or semi-annual basis. It includes an
audit report in which buyers can compare actual and quoted prices of car
service.
"The audit report is particularly helpful to travel and
procurement managers because it helps them ensure that they are only paying for
what they agreed upon," BostonCoach CEO Larry Moulter said in a statement.
"Testing of the reports over the past year revealed that many companies
are spending upwards of 23 percent more than they expect for car service."
Travel buyers can use the tool to note the most frequent
users and pickup locations, identify travelers with excessive stop or wait-time
charges and see which travelers are incurring multiple cancellation charges.
The tool's launch comes after a year of testing with select
buyers, according to BostonCoach. More than 70 companies currently use the
tool, Moulter said.
