SAS on Wednesday
said it would add daily Oslo-New York service next March and five weekly
Oslo-Shanghai roundtrips next winter, in addition to a handful of new European
routes.
SAS plans to
launch Oslo-New York service on March 27 next year using Airbus A330-300
aircraft that will feature 34 business class seats, 35 Economy Extra and 195 economy
seats. Copenhagen-Shanghai will launch next winter on A340-300 aircraft with 46
business class seats, 28 Economy Extra and 171 economy seats.
"We are
adding one Airbus A340 this winter as previously announced and another A340
next winter, which will bring our long-haul fleet to eleven," said SAS chief
commercial officer Robin Kamark. "We are also adding back in traffic three
short-haul aircraft, previously leased out, during spring 2011."
Commencing with
its spring schedule in March, SAS plans to offer 150 more weekly departures
thanks to added frequencies "on key routes," while also adding new
services from Oslo to Munich, Palma, Spain, and Split, Croatia, and from
Stockholm to Venice.
