Amadeus North America COO Scott Gutz in April will become president and CEO of distribution for North America and operations for the Americas region following the retirement of Amadeus Americas CEO Kay Urban

. Urban has worked in the travel industry for more than 30 years, starting as a reservations agent for Eastern Airlines. "She was on the ground floor of travel distribution when in 1982 she joined Industry Automation, which subsequently became System One," according to an Amadeus statement. Amadeus acquired System One in 1997.
