United Airlines today announced its second five-year distribution agreement this week, this time with Worldspan. The carrier on Monday announced a similar deal with Galileo
(BTNonline, April 10).
United said the five-year Worldspan pact would be implemented within the next six months and allow the global distribution system to distribute all published fares, including those sold through "United.com, any third-party Web site or other distribution systems, as well as private fares, where applicable," Worldspan said in a statement.
Worldspan this month also forged separate agreements with American Airlines and Continental Airlines
(BTNonline, April 4), following deals Sabre Holdings' signed with Northwest and US Airways
(BTN, Feb. 6). The recent flurry of five-year deals between GDSs and major network airlines comes as the three-year content deals currently in place near their expiration dates.
