BA, Amadeus Extend Full Content Deal
British Airways and Amadeus this week announced a three-year extension of their 2007 full content agreement, guaranteeing subscribers access to all of the carrier's published fares and inventory.
This week's deal, which expires in 2013, also extends BA's opt-in clause for Amadeus subscribers in the United Kingdom and Ireland, who will continue to pay fees from £0.50 to £1 per segment, based on fare class, or otherwise be subject to BA's £3 per-segment surcharges for full content.
The Amadeus agreement follows Travelport's deal with BA last month to similarly extend its agreement until 2013 and leave the opt-in levels for some subscribers unchanged.
"Amadeus is a trusted and important distribution channel and we are delighted to have reached an agreement that continues to give Amadeus agents worldwide access to our fares and which reduces our distribution costs," British Airways head of selling and distribution John Mornement said in a statement this week.
