China Eastern intends to share codes with Delta, effective
June 1, a day after it ends cooperation with American Airlines, according to
filings submitted to the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Delta and China Eastern requested authority for initial code
shares on China Eastern-operated flights between Shanghai and both Los Angeles
and New York, as well as between Shanghai and more than 20 Chinese cities, and
on Delta-operated flights between Shanghai and both Atlanta and Detroit,
between Seattle and Beijing and on dozens of domestic U.S. flights from Los
Angeles and New York.
China Eastern last April announced plans to join the Delta-led SkyTeam alliance.
