BA Suspends Heathrow-Haneda Service

British Airways has suspended London Heathrow-Tokyo Haneda service. The airline on Feb. 19 began five weekly flights on the route, becoming the first European carrier to fly to Haneda, an airport closer to downtown Tokyo than Narita.

The airline cited "reduced demand" presumably owing to Japan's nuclear and earthquake crises, but added that it remains "committed to this important route."
