U.S. airlines in February improved both their on-time performance and baggage handling year over year,
the U.S. Department of Transportation reported Thursday. The largest U.S. carriers posted an on-time arrival rate of 72.8 percent, up from 70.7 percent in February 2014 but still down from 76.8 percent in January 2015. Mishandled baggage reports declined to 3.92 per 1,000 passengers, compared with 4.21 in February 2014.
