SAP has broadened the scope of its cloud-based Travel
OnDemand solution through new partnerships with two online booking tools and a
payment solution, and has expanded it to 14 more countries, the company
announced on Monday.
Travel OnDemand—an application in SAP's cloud-based
BusinessByDesign platform, which includes payment, financial and other business
operation components—debuted in March and provides mobile and desktop access to
expense reporting and travel bookings, according to The Beat. Access to bookings initially was provided through a
partnership with GetThere, but SAP announced additional connections with the Amadeus
e-Travel and i:FAO Cytric online booking tools.
SAP also partnered with AirPlus International to "to
provide automated, near-field communication mobile payment processing,"
according to an SAP statement, and announced a partnership with receipt
recognition service provider OpenText, which "interprets
multi-lingual/multi-currency receipt images sent to SAP Travel OnDemand."
Originally launched in Germany and the United States, SAP said
Travel OnDemand now also is available in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada,
China, Denmark, France, India, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, Spain,
Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Travel OnDemand integrates with other SAP enterprise resource
planning tools, including its financial and human resources management
technology, according to the company.
