Carey International has promoted CFO Mitchell Lahr to be the company's president and CEO, the company announced. Lahr has been with Carey for 20 years and already had been a part of the "office of the CEO" created when Carey hired former Budget Rent a Car CEO Sandy Miller to lead the company in 2018, alongside Miller's son Dan Miller as COO. Both Miller and his son have left the company, according to a spokesperson. Carey Holdings board member Larry Lattig in a statement said that Lahr "has helped lead the company in a trajectory of steady growth amid a rapidly changing marketplace" and that his focus would be to accelerate "the expansion of [Carey's] global footprint and … investment in state-of-the-art ground transportation technology."
