WestJet has implemented a travel hygiene program that includes seat distancing, temperature checks before boarding and fogging aircraft interiors with a hydrogen peroxide-based cleaner. The carrier also is asking passengers health questions prior to flights and requiring travelers older than 2 years old to wear facial coverings, per Transport Canada rules. Meal service on WestJet flights is limited to a snack and bottled water given to passengers at their seat as they board for flights longer than 90 minutes, and there will be no service on shorter flights. WestJet and WestJet Encore currently are flying at reduced frequencies between 38 Canadian airports.
