Three Chinese airlines separately have agreed to purchase a
combined 95 Airbus aircraft, with a list-price value of $17.8 billion, according
to a Reuters report.
Air China and Shenzhen Airlines, of which Air China is a
majority stakeholder, have agreed to purchase 55 planes for a list price of
$12.4 billion, according to the report.
Air China's order is for 15 Airbus A350-900 widebody
aircraft, while Shenzhen Airlines' order is for 40 narrowbody A320neo-family
aircraft, according to a filing with the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Air China's
deliveries are expected to being in 2030, while Shenzhen's order delivery is
expected to begin in 2029.
Hainan Airlines has agreed to purchase 40 Airbus
A320neo-family jets for $5.4 billion, according to the report. The airline
expects deliveries to begin in 2028.
These latest orders follow other recent Airbus deals made by
Chinese carriers, according to Reuters. China
Eastern Airlines in June ordered 25 Airbus A330neo aircraft for about $9.4
billion, with deliveries set to begin in 2029. That order followed one in March
for up to 101 A320neo aircraft, valued at $15.8 billion. China Southern
Airlines and its subsidiary Xiamen Airlines in April agreed to purchase 137
aircraft for $21.4 billion.
