All-business-class carrier La Compagnie is merging with French
low-cost carrier XL Airways. Under La Compagnie's holding company, both
carriers will keep their respective focus but will share costs and offices. They
estimate their combined consolidated revenue at more than €400 million.
La Compagnie launched in 2014 and operates daily flights
between Paris' Charles de Gaulle Airport and Newark Liberty International
Airport on two Boeing 757-200 aircraft. XL, also based at Charles de Gaulle,
operates a larger network, flying Airbus A330 aircraft to the Caribbean, New
York, Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Israel and destinations in the Indian
Ocean.
Frantz
Yvelin, founder and CEO of La Compagnie, has left the company, and XL
Airways CEO Laurent Magnin will lead both carriers.
