American Airlines has developed a new account management platform for travel advisors using the carrier's prepaid AirPass program.
The new platform allows new members to obtain accounts and login credentials within 24 hours. It also changes the way the account balance is reported, accounting for tickets after they are booked rather than waiting until after travel is complete to debit the accounts.
In the future, the platform will enable buying tickets from American's partners, according to the carrier.
AirPass, which largely targets small and midsize businesses, provides fixed rates for flights along with perks including upgrades, priority boarding, in-flight amenities, AAdvantage elite status and Admirals Club membership. American lowered the minimum threshold for joining the program earlier this year.
