American Airlines has halved the minimum threshold for its pre-paid AirPass membership program to $5,000 per traveler through June 30. The program, which targets small and midsize businesses, provides fixed rates for flights along with other perks such as AAdvantage elite status and free Main Cabin Extra seating. The carrier also is incentivizing membership to its Business Extra loyalty program, offering new enrollees who fly before June 30 a bonus of 2,000 Business Extra points, which is enough to cover a domestic Economy roundtrip ticket.
