Air France-KLM reported third-quarter revenue growth and net income as the company "demonstrated its resilience in a challenging environment," CEO Benjamin Smith said in a quarterly earnings statement. "We maintained solid revenue growth and a stable operating margin."
The group's third-quarter revenue was more than €9.2 billion, an increase of 2.6 percent year over year. Net income was €768 million, compared with net income of €824 million a year prior. Capacity for the quarter increased 5.1 percent year over year. The company projects full-year 2025 capacity to increase 4 percent to 5 percent compared with 2024.
The company reported a quarterly North Atlantic capacity increase of 4.8 percent year over year. Performance was strong in premium cabins with positive yields while the economy yield remained under pressure, according to the company.
Air France reported third-quarter revenue of nearly €5.7 billion, an increase of 2.6 percent year over year on a 3.6 percent capacity increase. Its operating result was €799 million, an increase of €67 million compared with a year prior. The company carried 29.2 million passengers during the quarter, a 4.7 percent increase year over year. Load factor decreased to 88.8 percent from 89.3 percent compared with Q3 2024.
KLM third-quarter revenue was nearly €3.6 billion, a 1.2 percent year-over-year gain on a 7.4 percent capacity increase. Its operating result was €341 million, a decrease of €54 million from Q3 2024.
"We’ve carried more passengers, and our revenue has increased slightly," KLM CEO Marjan Rintel said in a statement. "However, high costs and operational challenges continue to trouble us.
