Abra Group, parent company of Avianca and Gol airlines, has named André Fehlauer as Gol CEO, effective September 2026, the carrier has announced. In addition, Gol chief operating officer Albert Perez will add president to his title.
Fehlauer will succeed current Gol CEO Celso Ferrer, who will step down Aug. 31 to pursue a new opportunity, according to the company. Ferrer had been with Gol for more than 20 years and in the CEO role since 2022.
Most recently, Fehlauer has been CEO of the independent rewards and loyalty program Livelo Brazil. He also previously spent eight years as CEO of Gol's loyalty program Smiles in Argentina and Brazil, according to Abra Group.
Perez joined Gol in early 2024 after more than two decades in aviation with roles at Avianca, JetSmart and Vueling, according to the company. With the addition of president to his role, his remit is "to continue to drive excellence in the airline's day-to-day operations" as the carrier expands its domestic and international network.
Gol in July launched its first international route between Rio de Janeiro and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, which also included the airline's Insignia business-class cabin. Future international destinations include Lisbon, launching Sept. 16, and Miami, Orlando and Paris.
