Corporate travel browser extension Shep is offering a free service that enables travel managers to deliver alerts and notifications to employees. Dubbed Shep Notify, the service is a browser extension that delivers pop-up messages within online booking channels such as online booking tools, online travel agencies and direct supplier sites. The notifications can provide health alerts, travel advisories and links to a company's Covid-19 resource page or external resources on the virus.
While corporate travel remains essentially dormant amid the Covid-19 outbreak, once it begins to resume, Shep Notify could be used to guide employees on which cities they are permitted to travel to, according to Shep.
Shep is partnering with FCM Travel Solutions for distribution, but Shep Notify can be used by any company for free, regardless of its TMC. The service currently is available on the Chrome app store at no charge and can be installed by individual employees in the U.S. and Canada. Availability through Microsoft Edge browser is expected in the near future, Shep said.
