Wi-Fi networks at San Diego International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport are among the least secure in the U.S., according to research from cloud security supplier Coronet. Coronet analyzed five months of data from more than 250,000 people traveling through the nation's 45 busiest airports, looking for risks with the networks and vulnerabilities of the devices using the networks. Coronet founder Dror Liwer said many airports have opted for user convenience at the expense of security. "As a result, business travelers in particular put not just their devices but their company's entire digital infrastructure at risk every time they connect to Wi-Fi that is unencrypted, unsecured or improperly configured. Until such time when airports take responsibility and improve their cybersecurity posture, the accountability is on each individual flier to be aware of the risks and take the appropriate steps to minimize the danger."
