AI data platform Clarasight has launched a new intelligence
tool aimed at helping travel buyers improve negotiations and performance with
suppliers.
The Supplier Intelligence capability pulls together a
company's travel, card and expense data to give a full spending picture and show
buyers where they have leverage, where supplier performance can be improved and
what they are paying across comparable trips, according to Clarasight.
For example, buyers can see if they are paying a preferred
carrier more than a competing carrier on a route or cabin level, where programs
are providing meaningful marketshare to a supplier and what bookings are
materially more expensive than what is expected on a certain route.
That gives them an alternative to depending on supplier-led
data such as quarterly reviews, according to the company.
"Travel buyers shouldn't have to rely on the company
they're negotiating with to tell them what the relationship is worth,"
Clarasight co-founder and CEO Adam Braun said in a statement. "The buyer
should walk into that room already knowing where they have leverage, where
they're paying a premium and exactly which opportunities are worth
pursuing."
Clarasight is rolling out Supplier Intelligence to its
customers this fall, the company said.
