Air Canada's passenger revenue increased 7
percent year over year to $3 billion in the fourth quarter, a result of a full
year of capacity
growth that included 28 new routes. Fourth-quarter capacity rose 17.1
percent year over year, and traffic increased 15.3 percent, pushing load factor
down 1.2 percentage points to 79.9 percent. Yield declined 7.2 percent as new
long-haul leisure markets brought down average fares. For the full year, Air
Canada reported an adjusted net income of C$1.1 billion (US$816.7 million), down
6.1 percent compared with 2015.
