Worldspan, Northwest Make Web Fare Access Pact
Northwest Airlines and global distribution system provider Worldspan today announced a new agreement through which the carrier provides to the GDS a more complete range of fares--including what had been Web-only fares--in exchange for lower distribution costs. The three-year deal is similar to arrangements between both Sabre and Galileo Int'l and several major U.S. carriers, including Northwest.
When asked for clarification, neither the airline nor Worldspan provided details on the level of cost savings Northwest will achieve as part of the agreement.
