Beverly Hills, Calif. - Travel agency back-office developer TravCom this summer plans to release a combination point of sale and management reporting solution designed to help agencies or corporate travel departments better manage data and their businesses.
Unlike most agency software, TravelMaJic is designed to help agencies book and then dissect every element of their business, by client, vendor, reporting period or booking. On the front end, the software stores all client addresses, booking forms, copies of all documents, form letters and faxes that can be linked to booking records, a diary or calendar of all on vacation or in training and staffing records of security authorization levels and emergency information.
Built into the software are templates for the 457 different ways to pay for a hotel room, according to a TravCom spokesperson.
The software was created in Europe in the early 1990s to help travel agencies The Gemini Group and The Appointment Group manage their demanding accounts in the entertainment industry. The software has been modified to interface with TravCom's Windows-based back-office accounting offerings to serve corporate and agency needs in the United States. On the vendor side, the TravelMaJic database tracks each data element separately to allow an agency to quickly retrieve every booking at a specific hotel, or every booking for a specific account.
