TQ3 Maritz Taps Dyer For Global Sales
St. Louis-based mega agency TQ3 Maritz Travel Solutions on Friday announced the promotion of Kathy Dyer, formerly vice president and general manager of the Northeast region, to senior vice president and general sales manager. In her new role, Dyer will focus on landing global accounts based both in North America and overseas.
The move is indicative of TQ3 Maritz's growing emphasis on international accounts. President and CEO Jack O'Neill said Dyer's appointment is a strategic move for the company and that "she is going to build a small team that will focus on clients and potential clients who are seeking a truly global solution."
International consolidation remains a hot spot for corporations and business travel management companies in an economy that continues to globalize. "Global travel is a part of the business that is increasingly of interest to a lot of our clients," O'Neill said. "The corporate world continues to shrink. I think it's a maturation process for the entire economy."
Maritz's linkage with Bremen, Germany-based TQ3 in February 2001 signaled its intent to become a global player. Although industry experts note that multinational corporations have been particularly quick to curtail travel in the economic downturn, O'Neill remains bullish: "We've had good success in the middle market with national accounts, and we now have the resources to pursue global accounts."
