NBTA's Connors Named To Government Air Research Council
Bill Connors, executive director and COO of the National Business Travel Association, this week was named to the Next Generation Air Transportation System Institute Management Council. Created by the Vision 100-Century of Aviation Reauthorization Act last year, the NGATS council will be responsible for industry involvement in the work of the Joint Planning & Development Office, which coordinates the air transportation-related research of several governmental agencies, including the Federal Aviation Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
"The aviation system just wasn't set up for the tremendous growth that it's seen over the last 40 years or so. This group is really looking at what's the best way to cope with that growth and understand how new technologies and infrastructures can help," Connors said. "It's really been set up as a public-private sector sort of group and NBTA is pleased to be considered one of the key stakeholders in that discussion about the future of the nation's aviation system. Serving on this board and having the ability to tap into NBTA's aviation committee for their input and guidance is going to be great."
