Lyft and Curb, a ride-hailing platform for taxis, have expanded their partnership to New York City following launches in Los Angeles and San Francisco, Lyft announced Thursday.
Lyft riders who request a Standard, Priority Pickup or Wait & Save ride through the Lyft app now can be matched with a licensed taxi when one is nearby. Riders who do not want to be matched with a taxi can update their preference in the Lyft app, according to the company
Lyft's up-front pricing, driver and vehicle information policies apply to taxis booked through the platform, as do its in-app safety features and the ability to tip and rate their driver, according to Lyft.
The partnership works through Curb's Curb Flow API, which aggregates ride demand into a single network, according to Lyft.
