Datalex Rescues Remainder of Yatra
Dublin-based Datalex, a publicly traded travel technology developer that is part-owned by Worldspan in Atlanta, today announced it had absorbed Minneapolis-based Yatra Corp., the corporate self-booking provider in which it previously held a 50 percent stake.
With a difficult fourth quarter affecting both companies, a Datalex spokesperson said, it was time to infuse Yatra with the resources it needs to care for two "critical" corporate clients, Milwaukee-based Johnson Controls and Siemens Canada. "No money is changing hands," said the spokesman. "The original Yatra shareholders will take a percentage of ongoing deals, keeping the product alive."
Noting that Yatra recently reduced headcount in Minneapolis to 16 from the mid-20s, the spokesperson said the Datalex board within the next two to three months will make additional decisions about what to support and where.
