Four months after receiving a combined $50 million investment from four major hotel companies, Groups360 has rehired David O'Donohoe as the meetings marketplace's VP of brand engagement, overseeing its relationships with hotels. O'Donohoe previously held the position of Groups360 VP of hospitality sales and strategy. He has more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, formerly working for companies including Sheraton and its former parent Starwood, as well as for meetings management company StarCite, which now is part of Cvent. One issue he aims to address with hotel suppliers is their desire to "control the increasing cost of distribution while delivering a great shopping experience for our consumers," he said in a statement. At the time it received its hotel investment, Groups360 announced plans to eventually offer an instant booking solution for simple meetings. O'Donohoe also recently was appointed to the sales advisory board of Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International.
