The Omni Nashville Hotel snared the No. 1 spot among this year's top U.S. meeting hotels, compiled by meeting and event technology provider Cvent. The property moved up five spots from last year. Two more Nashville properties made the top 10, the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center and the Renaissance Nashville Hotel, making it the U.S. city with the most hotels in the top 10. The three chains with the most properties in the top 100 are, by order, Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt.
The Hilton Prague headed up Europe, while the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai took the top spot for the Middle East and Africa, while the Hyatt Regency Sydney topped the Asia/Pacific. All three properties retained their positions from last year.
A Nashville property also took top honors among U.S. hotels with less than 10,000 square feet of meeting space: the Noelle Nashville, which is new to the list. Five Nashville hotels were among the top 25 in this category. The Hotel Valencia Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas, led independent hotels with less than 10,000 square feet of meeting space, up from No. 2 last year.
Cvent releases its lists of top meeting hotels annually, segmenting them by region, property type and meeting-space size. This year, Cvent produced 14 lists. It determined the list of top properties in each category based on meeting and event booking activity through the Cvent Supplier Network, and ranked each list based on group business performance by total RFPs and conversion rate, among other criteria. The 2019 lists are available here.
