Meetings space provider Convene has updated its operating standards in light of the ongoing pandemic and is requiring employees to test for Covid-19 and disclose if they test positive for the virus, effective immediately. If they have tested positive, they will not be allowed to return to work until cleared to do so by their doctor.
Additionally, all employees and guests now are required to wear face masks at all times, according to Convene.
Before arriving at Convene properties, employees, guests and members who use Convene for office space will be required to fill out a web questionnaire about their health and will receive a social contract outlining new etiquette and space-use guidelines designed to ensure health, safety and cleanliness. At the lobby entrance or at the welcome desk of the property, Convene employees, guests and members will be given a touch-free temperature check scan.
Convene also has adopted a spacing policy for common areas and meeting spaces, removed furniture to optimize spacing layout and updated signage to reduce crowding and contact in shared spaces. Convene also is conducting cleanings of high-touch surfaces and regular deep cleanings accompanied by electrostatic misting to disinfect surfaces, and is providing complimentary personal protection equipment stations.
Finally, Convene has new protocols for its kitchens. Meals and breaks offerings are individually wrapped and delivered directly to the meetings space. Buffets will be replaced with Bento Boxes.
To develop the standards, Convene said it consulted with medical experts, government officials and business leaders.
