Tom Walley
Flight Centre Travel Group has named Tom Walley to lead its small and midsize enterprise-focused division Corporate Traveler.
Walley has been with Flight Centre for more than 20 years and for the last few years has been general manager of Corporate Traveler's operations in Australia, where he "created a highly successful strategy in the Australian market," according to Chris Galanty, CEO of Flight Centre's corporate travel divisions. He will retain his role as general manager for Australia in addition to his new role as Corporate Traveler's global managing director.
In a statement, Walley said he will "focus on Corporate Traveler being a leader for SMEs across the globe" and that he is pursuing "an ambitious target of welcoming $1 billion of new customers in the 2023 financial year." Corporate Traveler currently has more than 16,000 global customers.
The travel management company in the coming months also is working to expand global availability of its travel booking and management platform Melon, which it launched in North America last fall.
[Update, Feb. 2] Corporate Traveler on Wednesday also announced two new roles in its management structure. Amanda Vining, who was president of Corporate Traveler's U.S. operations, now is Corporate Traveler's chief sales and customer officer, in charge of reaching sales, retention and growth targets globally. Chris Lynes, who had been serving as SVP of Flight Centre's corporate brands in Canada, now is Corporate Traveler's president for the Americas.
Both Vining and Lynes are reporting to Walley and Charlene Leiss, Flight Centre Travel Group's president for the Americas.
