SAP will host Concur Fusion, its signature travel and expense customer conference, as a virtual conference for the first time. This comes after SAP initially scuttled the conference over public concerns of the Covid-19 outbreak. The event will take place as live online sessions on March 11 and 12. Initially, the conference was scheduled for March 9-12. The event has no registration fee and will be open to all.
The Association of Corporate Travel Executives, meanwhile, announced that its New York Global Summit conference will proceed on its scheduled April 26-28 dates. ACTE said made this decision based on the latest guidance from the World Health Organization and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. According to a statement, the organization said it is implementing the following precautions and practices:
- Making hand sanitizer available throughout the venue
- Working with its hotel and partners to ensure there is enhanced cleaning and refuse management to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Encouraging attendees to use its mobile event app.
"We are remaining extremely vigilant of this situation and following the recommendations of global public health agencies," according to the association. "If any of our plans change, we will be sure to let you know in a timely manner."
