Pop-up hotel provider WhyHotel is preparing to fully open in the next few months plans in two new buildings, in Miami and Washington, D.C., the company announced Tuesday. Each location will offer more than 100 furnished units in newly built luxury properties.
The WhyHotel Midtown Miami will operate in the AMLI Midtown Miami building, located in Midtown and near Wynwood. The units currently are available for stays of 30 days or longer, with check-ins for shorter transient stays beginning on May 1, 2021.
The WhyHotel Washington DC National Mall will be housed in the Kiley Apartments near Capitol Hill in the Southwest Waterfront neighborhood. Reservations are open, and check-ins for stays of 30 days or more start in April, with check-ins for shorter stays beginning on June 1, 2021.
Not unlike the popular pop-up store concept, a pop-up hotel operates temporarily. WhyHotel partners with apartment complex owners and developers to operate during the lease-up phase of the building upon its opening, according to a company spokesperson. As the lease-up phase winds down and residents enter the building on a permanent basis, WhyHotel phases out of the building.
