Sonesta International Hotels Corp. has launched the first prototype for Simply Suites, its midprice extended-stay brand, the company announced this week.
The prototype for the Simply Suites brand, which Sonesta launched about four years ago, includes both a three-floor design with 89 guest rooms and a four-floor design with 122 guest rooms. The prototype's public spaces include an enlarged market, according to a spokesperson, along with a communal gathering table and what Sonesta calls a "mud room" that features the property's fitness area and other amenities, like printing facilities and ice, and connects to the covered outdoor gathering area.
The prototype's guest rooms feature a corner settee and movable table, according to the spokesperson, along with the addition of studios with double queen-size beds and those with king-size beds and sleeper sofas.
"This launch reinforces our commitment to grow our extended stay segment with a product that offers a cost-effective, adaptable solution for developers and ensures a best-in-class stay for guests," Sonesta chief development officer Brian Quinn said in a statement.
Sonesta had 65 Simply Suites properties operating as of Jan. 31, according to the spokesperson. Sonesta has a second extended-stay brand, Sonesta ES Suites.
