U.S. hotel occupancy in November dropped 2.7 percent year over year, the ninth consecutive month of decline, according to hotel analytics firm STR. Average daily rate, however, increased again.
U.S. revenue per available room in November fell 2.3 percent year over year to $88.97, the eighth straight month it has declined. November occupancy was 57.9 percent, and ADR increased 0.6 percent to $153.77.
As is typical, STR said its top 25 markets "showed higher occupancy and ADR than all other markets."
Minneapolis recorded the lowest occupancy among STR's top 25 markets for the month at 51.9 percent, followed by Detroit at 55.9 percent.
Tampa's occupancy, ADR and RevPAR declines each were the steepest among STR's top 25 markets due in part to the effects of Hurricane Milton in November 2024, according to the company.
