InterContinental Hotels Group is reshuffling its global sales team with new appointments, effective Dec. 1, according to the company.
Betty Wilson, currently VP of Americas sales, will take on the role of VP of global accounts. In her new role, she will focus on sales across all regions, B2B segments and markets. Prior to joining IHG in 2018, Wilson spent more than 20 years at Starwood Hotels & Resorts, ultimately serving as VP of global sales.
Jonathan Kaplan, currently VP of global sales strategy, will step into Wilson's previous role of VP of Americas sales. Since joining IHG more than three years ago, he helped launch the IHG Business Edge small and midsize enterprise program, among other programs. Previously, he was director of global leisure and luxury sales for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, where he worked for more than 15 years.
Tamara Laster, currently head of corporate travel on the global sales strategy team, has been promoted to VP of global sales strategy. With IHG since 2011, Laster has worked on various B2B programs, including as director of B2B customer solution design, overseeing the overhaul and expansion of the Corporate Gold chainwide pricing program, and the introduction of IHG's centralized request-for-proposals program. In her new role, she will be responsible for driving IHG's B2B sales strategy, program and initiatives for corporate, groups and meetings, and SME customers, including the Business Edge program. Prior to joining IHG, Laster spent time in strategy roles at Accenture, North Highland and ADP.
