Choice Hotels International on Tuesday unveiled details of new prototypes for two of its upper-midscale brands, Country Inn & Suites by Radisson and Comfort.
Each new prototype includes changes to the design of the properties' public spaces that increase the number of guest rooms available, according to Choice.

The new Country Inn & Suites prototype adds 18 guest rooms through an "optimization of the public space and back of house layouts," according to Choice, while Comfort's new prototype adds three rooms, and "the hotel lobby, breakfast and flex room areas have been adapted to incorporate a more intuitive design."
The Comfort prototype builds on the recently developed "Rise & Shine" prototype, according to the company. More than 140 properties have adopted that prototype, Choice said. At the end of 2024, Choice had about 2,160 Comfort properties worldwide, nearly 1,675 of which were in the United States.
Choice at the end of 2024 had 431 Country Inn properties, all but nine of which were in the U.S., and in a statement noted an "an increase in revenue from group and business travelers" in 2024 from 2023 levels. A spokesperson declined to elaborate.
The hotel company also noted it would "sharpen" the identities of the two brands, noting that "throughout the year, Choice Hotels plans on testing and rolling out a series of new and evolved brand hallmarks, including an updated breakfast offering, furniture, fixtures, and equipment packages and more."
