WestJet and Icelandair have agreed to a reciprocal codeshare partnership, the carriers announced Monday. The carriers project codeshare flights will be available for booking in fall 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
The deal will allow passengers to travel across each airline's network under a single booking, through check-in, connections and baggage transfer.
Neither carrier announced the specific routes to be included in the codeshare, but WestJet noted that it would be easier for Icelandair customers to "seamlessly connect with one stop to a collection of Canadian cities across WestJet's domestic network." Further, WestJet customers will be able to "access more than 10 destinations across Europe" via flights from Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg via connection at Iceland's Keflavik airport.
Later in June, WestJet will launch nonstop service to Keflavik from each Edmonton and Winnipeg, according to the carrier.
