Star Alliance plans to take over an existing lounge at Seoul's
Incheon International Airport when Asiana Airlines departs the alliance later
this year.
Asiana Airlines Business Lounge (West) in Incheon's Terminal
1 will transition into a Star Alliance lounge in the final quarter of 2026.
Asiana is leaving
Star Alliance on Dec. 16 following its acquisition
and integration by Korean Air.
Currently, eligible passengers flying with 14 Star Alliance
carriers can use Asiana Airlines' lounges at Incheon, and the alliance said
establishing its own branded lounge at the airport would ensure "continued
premium lounge access."
The lounge at Incheon will be Star Alliance's seventh lounge
worldwide. It already has facilities at airports such as Paris Charles de
Gaulle and Los Angeles International.
Ambar Franco, vice president customer experience at Star
Alliance, said, "Incheon International Airport is an important gateway for
Star Alliance, with several member airlines operating here. This partnership
