Travel management technology provider TripStax has integrated travel risk intelligence from Riskline into its Track duty-of-care solution, the company announced.
Via Riskline's Alerts API, TripStax's Track module can process data from real-time events such as natural disasters, civil unrest, terrorism or other geopolitical incidents, according to TripStax. That data can be matched to traveler itineraries, and TripStax can send alerts to travel management company operations teams, travel managers and other relevant stakeholders.
"The provision of timely, actionable risk information has become a critical requirement for travel managers and TMCs," TripStax chief product officer David Chappell said in a statement. "By extending our partnership with Riskline and integrating their world-class intelligence directly into Track, we are enabling customers to identify and respond to relevant traveler risk events quickly and efficiently."
Organizations can define their risk thresholds with the integration based on event category and severity, according to TripStax.
In addition, TripStax announced it has added WhatsApp as a communications channel. The addition has become necessary for "reliable, traveler friendly methods of communication" as SMS channels are becoming more fragmented due to regulations and network limitations, the company said.
