Latam Airlines and Delta Air Lines for flights beginning April 1 will enable reciprocal frequent-flyer benefits, the carriers announced. Latam Pass and Delta SkyMiles members will be able to earn and redeem miles on each carrier's flights.
The carriers also plan to expand reciprocal lounge access benefits to more airports in the Americas and establish mutual top-tier loyalty recognition during the first half of 2020.
The airlines also have begun offering codeshare flights in Peru, Ecuador and Colombia, starting Thursday. A Brazil codeshare agreement will go into effect during the first half of 2020, subject to regulatory approval.
The loyalty and codeshare agreements are part of the ongoing implementation of a strategic alliance between Latam and Delta first announced in September 2019. Latam's previous codeshare agreement with American Airlines ended on Feb. 1, and Latam has said will depart from the Oneworld alliance on May 1.
