Travel booking and expense platform Rydoo has added a new feature to its hotel search tool that indicates the operational status and safety protocols in place for specific properties amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Properties that are open and complying with hygiene standards and regulations are marked with a "Clean & Safe" tag on Rydoo's hotel search results page. Users can access data on a property's cleaning procedures and such hygiene measures as hand sanitizer availability, as well as physical-distancing measures including the allotted time between room vacancies and food and drink protocols, Rydoo said.
As corporate travel gets back on its feet in the wake of Covid-19, access to supplier cleanliness information has been cited as a key method of promoting traveler safety and confidence. In the hotel sector, a number of suppliers have rolled out their own in-house safety initiatives, including specific programs for meetings and events, while the American Hotel & Lodging Association put forth a set of standards, dubbed Safe Stay, in May. Meanwhile, In the air travel sector, ATPCO in April rolled out a new set of standardized Routehappy Universal Product Attributes focused on supplier cleanliness procedures, which since have been integrated by a number of online booking tools.
