United Airlines will cut over its reservation system to HP's Shares from Travelport's Apollo on the evening of March 2,
"and will be on
one system when we begin operations on March 3," according to an airline
spokesman. Travelport chairman Jeff Clarke said he was "proud that
Travelport has done a fantastic job of working with HP to make the transition
over." Despite the blow of losing the United business, Clarke said airline
IT for Travelport would remain "core and very strategic. We continue to
invest in passenger service systems and the overall capability for reservations
hosting."
