A pair of ground transportation companies recently announced changes at the top of their executive teams, as chauffeured transportation company BostonCoach last month named Larry Moulter, formerly president of his own consulting firm and senior advisor to chauffeured transportation company Commonwealth Worldwide, as its president and CEO, while Enterprise Rent-A-Car this month named COO Pamela Nicholson as its president. Moulter said his background, including a position as president of New Boston Garden Corp., which helped build the TD Banknorth Garden sports arena, will allow him to move the company toward a more unified view of service delivery. "You have to be very precise and focused around sales and delivery of service," he said. "Particularly if you look at my 10 years at the Boston Garden, it was around creating a sense of purpose and alignment within staffs to deliver premier customer service. My peak contribution will end up being the ability to get us all moving in the same step around customer service and the delivery of a premium level of service." Moulter also is looking to integrate BostonCoach's transportation services with its destination management services. BostonCoach purchased destination management company Best of Boston in 2005
(Meetings Today, Dec. 5, 2005). Moulter succeeds Jonathan Danforth, who left the company in January.
Enterprise's Nicholson will oversee the company's rental car and other transportation-related businesses, including Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car. Nicholson began her position earlier this month. "I am focusing on the integration of our Alamo and National brands into Enterprise," she said, adding that within one year she expects full integration of the brands Enterprise purchased in 2007
(BTNonline, Aug. 1, 2007). "The three brands actually have very distinct customer bases and the overlap for the customer base is only 2 percent." While Alamo will remain primarily leisure-focused, National and Enterprise bring "an extremely robust offering and a value proposition that no one else can provide," she said, calling National's Emerald Club, which offers such benefits as counter bypass to members, "the best that the industry offers on-airport." Nicholson will remain Enterprise's COO and as a member of the board of directors of Enterprise's parent company, Crawford Group. Donald Ross, Nicholson's predecessor, will continue with the company as vice chairman.
