The U.S. Senate during a pro forma session passed the 21st Federal Aviation Administration funding extension,
allowing it to reopen and
operate until Sept. 16, according to a statement by Sen. Jay Rockefeller
(D-W.Va.), chair of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and
Transportation. As part of the extension, $16 million in funding for rural
airports would be eliminated.
