Japan Airlines this year will launch inflight wireless Internet on some international routes,
beginning this summer for flights between New York JFK and Tokyo Narita on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. JAL by October will launch the Panasonic-powered inflight service on flights to Chicago, Los Angeles and Jakarta, and by "next spring" on services to London, Paris and Frankfurt. Access costs $11.95 for the first hour or $21.95 for 24 hours upon activation, according to the carrier.
