Emirates named Rob Gurney as senior vice president of North America,

a new role that will lead Emirates' commercial operations in the United States and Canada, the carrier announced Tuesday. Gurney has been with Emirates a little more than a year, previously serving as divisional vice president of Australasia, a position in which he helped develop Emirates' relationship with Qantas.
