Delta Air Lines is changing its code for fares to improve identification of main cabin, basic economy and first class F-upsell products
and to allow corporate-incentive options across the three classes. The new code structure adds a character product identifier—differentiating B for basic economy, M for main cabin and F for first class F-upsell—to replace the static ticket designators previously used for basic economy and first class F-upsell fares. The codes also allow corporate tickets to include corporate priority and recognition benefits. Delta introduced the main cabin code structure this month on domestic tickets and plans to introduce the other two the week of Oct. 5. It also intends to introduce the structure to international markets.
