upon the expected Oct. 3 closing of its
acquisition of Avis Europe, the company
announced. Current executive vice president of sales, marketing and customer
care Thomas Gartland will serve as president of the new North America region. Patric
Siniscalchi, previously executive vice president of international operations,
will serve as president of the new Latin America/Australasia region. The new Europe,
Middle East and Africa region will be headed by Larry De Shon, who most
recently served as executive vice president of domestic operations in the
United States. Former Avis Europe CEO Pascal Bazin will remain with Avis Budget
until year-end " in a consulting capacity to assist in the transition,"
according to a company statement.
