Alaska Airlines in October retained the top spot in on-time performance rankings among the nine largest U.S. carriers,

according to FlightStats. Operating at 90.4 percent on-time during the month, Alaska again was followed by AirTran Airways (89.8 percent) and Delta Air Lines (88.7 percent), marking the sixth consecutive month the three carriers finished in that order based on FlightStats data. Southwest Airlines for a second consecutive month ranked last among the group, with on-time performance of 74.6 percent.
